Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe its a French Island in the Caribbean Sea between Dominica and Antigua & Barbuda. The main city its Pointe-a-Pitre. I lived in Guadeloupe in 2014 and 2015 in Le Gosier.

The island its clear divided by "East" and "West" like a butterfly shape. The West Side (Basse Terre) have much less tourism. The East Side (Grande Terre) its much more touristic and crowded. In BasseTerre are the beautiful beach's, the contact with the nature, the best diving points.. for me the real Caribe spirit. In Grand Terre are the hotels, the resorts, the restaurants and the night life.


Like most of the Caribbean islands, the main cities and villages are not visually nice, they are disorganized places and need urgently conservation works and a biggggg cosmetic work.


The beaches are amazing, really TOP... For dive lovers  (free-dive or scuba-dive), this is the point.

Also make part of Guadeloupe 3 amazing small islands. Marie Galante, Des Saintes and la Désirade. If Guadeloupe it's great here it's the paradise.


How to arrive:

Its necessary to arrive to Paris and after flight Paris to Pointe-a-Pitre. Main Air Companies are Air France, Air Caribes and Corsair . My suggestion its executive class of Air Caribes. excellent quality/price.
 

Suggestions to rest: A lot of very nice particular houses, villas and studios are available in the island. Excellent option for a "low cost" vacations.

• Sainte Anne: Kot Sud, Le Balaou,
• Saint François: Le Zagaya, Colombo 
• Malendure:  Try the beach restaurants.

• Le Gosier: Friday Creole Market, DB9, Casino
• Marina du Gosier: Zoo Rock Café, Marina bars
• Jarry: Kama Club

 

 Hotel Cannela Beach.
It's not the best hotel of the island but it's good economic option in Le Gosier.

One of the best family spots in Gaudeloupe.  Amazing place.

 

     Custeau Reserve in Malendure. A great touristic diving point.
